about
“Just a Feeling” is about an internal dialogue I had after ending a relationship with an ex. She is a sweet girl and we ended on good terms, which made the situation harder. I wrote the song about a month after things ended and was contemplating getting back together with her. The song focusses on my decision not to go through with getting back together; It was me saying, even though I loved her, we were not right for each other. The line “I want to make you happy, but I can't carry that weight” came from my good friend Brandon Zedaker after a long conversation about love and loss. It was that perfect phrase that helped in the decision to move on.
